There is are so many ways to make a residual profit from your web site through advertising programs such as Google Adsense, Yahoo and many other ad networks. But there is nothing worse than not making money from your web site tan being banned from displaying contextual ads from the Adsense program.

Jensense highlights some key factors to help webmasters determine whether a site they own or have recently purchased may be banned from the Adsense program. In her post she recommends the ‘Way Back Machine’ web site where you can check whether a site may have ranking issues within the major search engines. I recommend all webmasters to bookmark the site as you will no doubt need to use their services in the near future.

Adsense and other ad programs should be a benefit to your site content as well as helping webmasters to earn a passive residual income. You do not want to jeopardize your account because of a misunderstanding or after purchasing a banned domain that is no longer authorized to display Adsense.

Top Tips to Avoid Being Banned

The best way forward for current Adsense publishers is to always check the terms. Do not make assumptions or second guess on any matter or concern. For any information you need further clarification on you should go to the Adsense policy and terms web pages for FULL details.

I’ve been banned from AdSense (the cover-all reason of “invalid clicks”) and I’ve since been told my site is no longer suitable for them anyway – but the preview tool is quite happy to show what the ads could be. So either Google wants me back, or else the tool isn’t always to be trusted.

    Thanks for our input Paul,

I think that the tool is a good reference but as it is third party owned looks like is isn’t 100% foolproof or maybe takes some time before updating.

I noted that your site has alternative ad programs hope they are doing well for you.

I haven’t been banner per se but Adsense have ended their referral program.

You can’t imagine how many sites I have to remove their code from let alone the amount of web pages. Shoould
make them pay for the waste of time huh!!! ;-)

    Hi again Chad,

I read about the recent change in terms this month. By the end of January you need to remove your Adsense referral codes because you WILL NOT receive any credit thereafter.

Apparently us Europeans are not actively signing up to Adsense through their referral system so they are axing this all together. This policy fails to take into account that many European bloggers have North American visitors who may want to signup with Adsense.

Only available in North American, Latin America and Japan!

Oh well more time consuming, mind numbing deletion work AGAIN!

    hey they’ve changed it!

now you can continue to use adsense referrals but only get paid for new US, japan and s.american sign ups.
still, i wonder how much more pressure google can take, we webmasters have iour say and things get done, eh!

    Hi Kostas,

    Calm down.

Yep you’re right. Looks like the pressure from referral publishers got the gang at Google to reconsider such a harsh decision.

So now it’s up to you/us whether to continue with the program or remove them from your site and move on.

Plenty more ways to monetize your website. Try CPA networks such as NeverBlueAds
