If you are an affiliate promoting products from Amazon.com you should have received the latest update regarding commission rates. They claim to be trying to make end meets as far as feedback and suggestions from affiliates but they haven’t raised their commission fee from that all too low 4%!

I was hoping for a change in the rates but I guess that’s not going to happen any time soon. I’m getting a little tired of the way in which Amazon requests that affiliates apply for certain rates according to affiliate sales by a specified date.

Besides the highest commission rate according to their charts is 8.5%. You’ll need to have a good flow of targeted traffic to your site and lots of sales to make a good profit. I know many webmasters who do fairly well with their sales but they are usually sites that are selling games, DVD’s, clothing and similar merchandise.

What has been your experience with the Amazon Associate Program?

Are you earning a good sum or have you forgotten about that lonely link or banner on your site?

I would love to hear from you so you are welcome to leave a comment.

I intend to join Amazon Affiliate and give it a try. However, after doing some research, I get a lot of negative respond from those affiliate member. This issue become hot since Amazon reset their commision structure. Now I still can’t make my decision. what do you think, Nancy?

    That’s a good question!

A good tip is not to focus just on books at Amazon but use other products that complement your site. I believe you get a slightly higher commission from non-book related products.

It is hard to keep up with their changes in policy.

I don’t rely too heavily on Amazon for my main sites but there are some sites, particularly electronics, gadget site that have a good level of traffic who perform quite well.

Anyway sign up its free and test out different products. Don’t put all your eggs into one basket and use other advertising sources:

What I know is Amazon affiliate looks like a little bit saturated in the market. So I believe that if we really wish to make some money from this affiliate program, we must think outside the box - Think some new idea to promote it.

I been using amazon on my website for a long time now. AFter updating my links to the new fun codes and iadding the astore I am finally seeing results, at last.

I was thinking of dropping Amazon but it now pays for my hosting and other bills. So effectively Amazon keep me debt free for my internet services. Maybe I will do some more advertising to get more people to my site and more sales.

My word of advice is to stick with it and USE ALL of the new stuff they provide to affiliates.

    Roll on Amazon
