Facebook Quick Tips – Updating Your RSS Feeds Manually

Here is a quick fix for slow updating RSS feeds from your blogs to your Facebook “Notes”. Lately I have been experiencing severe delays in updates. So I had a look around and found a quick “update” feature. This allows me to manually update my RSS feeds found under the Notes tab and it is also featured on the front of my “Wall”.
Sometimes the most obvious details slip you by. Depending on what I’m doing I don’t have the chance to check Facebook and sometimes I just simply forget!
Automation is essential for ensuring repetitive routine tasks get done instantly saving you time and allowing you to get on with other things. I’ve experienced a few glitches where it has taken hours to update. This may be due to the recent changes being made at Facebook which appears to be slowing down regular features. Follow the steps below to instantly update your RSS feeds to display your most recent articles.
Step 1
Go to your Face book “Profile” and click on the “Settings” tab to the right of your “Wall”.

You’ll be presented with the “Stories by You” menu where your imported RSS feeds are located.

Step 2
Move down to click on the Blog/RSS hyperlink and “Update Now”.

Step 3
Then you will be available to view your latest blog posts both on your Facebook Wall and Notes.
Voila!

Glad to see someone else talk about this delay. I don’t seem to have the stories by you which you mention. Any ideas how else to fix?
Hi Deb,
I’ve doubled checked and all the articles are displayed both on this blog and at Facebook under the “Notes” tab.
Maybe you just need to click Refresh on your browser.
Glad the quick tip helped

Thanks Nancy! So many searches and finally found this!
Maybe Facebook will be nice enough to fix their freaking RSS feeds!
Hi Lisa,
I almost left this out but glad I did now. It’s always those little things that can bring you to the verge of insanity online.
So much for automation!

Glad this helped people.

Thanks so much for sharing this. Sometimes it takes 2 weeks for Facebook to post the latest RSS feed items to my Notes page. For posts related to timely matters it looks really stupid when they show up 10 days after the event.
They should really just turn off the automated feature if it is really going to be that stinking slow.
You can avoid the manual updates using a service like http://www.dlvr.it. It’s really awesome!
Hi Marcelo,
Nice resource site!

This feature, which was a godsend, has been disabled. Do the people at fb just not like people being happy or something?
Hi Tony,
I understand your frustration. Seems like this glitch has gone unseen.
Makes us have to do a little more leg work which we don’t need!
