Following on from some of the keyword research tools I have personally used or tested out for ads and to optimize web pages. I was reminded by Linda Buquet of the Top Rank Blog readers poll results by over at TopRankBlog - Winner Best Keyword Research Tool
Those being WordTracker, Keyword Discovery and NicheBOT. The main one I have used is WordTracker after using their free trial and upgrading to the paid version.
I have also used Aaron Wall’s free keyword tools, Good Keywords amongst others.
I was surprised that they were not included in the poll and that NicheBOT had a low vote. However the results were based on a reader survey for this particular poll.
What’s is you favorite keyword research tools?
Very interesting results don’t you think?

I’ve researched and narrowed my list down to Artemis, Glyphius, and Nemeas. What do you think about these? Or if you don’t like them, what about other, similar products? These have features that I really like.
Thanks,
Doug Jones
Hi Doug,
I personally use ‘WordTracker’ and Aaron Wall’s free keyword research tool.
The software you have mentioned I have heard about from other online colleagues but have not personally used so I am not familiar with the dynamics or usability.
I do like the features of Glyphius and will look into this. As for Artemis isn’t that a copywriting tool?
Other tools I’ve read about or been recommended are:
- Keyword Spy
- Keyword Analyzer
- Keyword Elite
If you use FireFox there is an SEO plugin which will display ‘link popularity’ similar to Keyword Elite’s properties but for FREE.
Premium Keyword Tools include:
* Theme Zoom
* Keyword Discovery
* NicheBot
These are suited to experienced makreters who are making a substantial return which should balance out the monthly fees.
Thanks again,
Nancy
