It’s that time again when you log into your WordPress blog and read the latest announcement on the ‘Dashboard’ and see yet another upgrade. Maybe it’s due to security vulnerabilities found that need your immediate attention or to add more functionality.
Whatever the reason I use to dread this note. I’d be sending my installation guy an email to get all of my family of WordPress blogs updated to the latest version.
So why not do it myself?
After all there are step by step instructions at WordPress. Well if you’re like me and hate the thought of messing around with things you’re not too savvy with like script installation and the dreaded WordPress upgrade, then you want to call on someone who knows EXACTLY what they are doing.
Until.. I plucked up the courage to look into Doing-It-Myself which could mean the difference to my decision to create another WordPress blog EVER AGAIN.
Anyway I wanted a FOOLPROOF guide but not written tutorial.
Hey it’s 2007 so VIDEO is what I’m after. No compromises!
Beside the last thing I want to do is screw up my blog! 
Off to YouTube for a quick search and behold I find a “How to Upgrade WordPress” video waiting for me.
Holy Cow.. This is so EASY TO DO.
Why the heck I didn’t try this before beats the hell out of me.
Now I can do it myself and save myself time and money in the process.
For those of you who have been put off by the idea of having to constantly upgrade your WordPress blog and thought it was too much trouble. Then I urge you to watch this short video. Once you see how STRAIGHT FORWARD the steps are to upgrade your Wordress blog you’ll never ask anyone to do it for AGAIN!

For the first time I’m actually looking forward to the official WordPress 2.3 update.
It goes to show that that time old saying “YOU Never Know Until You Try”
really does make a difference.

This is a good video Wordpress gives instructions to DELETE your old files. Whereas the video shows you only need to OVERWRITE them with the new update. This is where I went wrong with my own blog. I gave up as it didn’t have much content.
Maybe now I can get a new one up and running with confidence. Didn’t think about searching for a video tutorial.

I couldn’t have foreseen that for the SECOND TIME my blog theme has become incompatible with the new upgrade hence the missing sidebar and footer a few days ago.
Just as well because I want to find a nice 3 column theme.
With any luck it will sustain forthcoming WordPress updates!

The guys or admin at WordPress should also remind people to delete the upgrade file once everything is OK.
I am looking for a theme and hope it will be compatible with 2.3.
