Whilst browsing through the Warrior forum a few days ago I came across a web site that provides free ‘Ribbon Ad’ generator service. In a previous post I mentioned Michael Bloch’s free service which provides sample images that need to be uploaded to your web space and enter code into your HTML web page in a specific location [before the end body tags].
However with the Website Ribbon service the process of creating your Ribbon Ad is very quick and simple so that even a the novice user can master how to use it with ease.
To create your own Ribbon Ads just follow the five simple steps to create cut and paste JavaScript code for you to insert into your web page. It’s so easy to implement into your site!
Currently there are two font types, ‘Tahoma’ and ‘Verdana’ in a choice of font sizes. It is recommended to use CAPITALS for your text for maximum effectiveness. There is a very broad selection of font colors to choose from as well as generous array of ribbon colors. You can view a screenshot of the simple steps below.

As quoted from WebsiteRibbon.com => “You may also paste it anywhere on the page, and this won’t affect its actual corner placement.”
That means no hunting down any lines of code to insert the code in a specific place. Phew!
Best of all Ribbon Ads can blend in well with your page and are very eye catching without being intrusive to your visitors, yet they are eye catching and arouse enough curiosity for people to want to click on them.

Even though there are 20 colors to choose from, the lack of choice in design could be worked on for future development maybe, but you can work with what you’ve got at hand.

As you can see from the above screenshot once you click on the ‘Generate‘ button you can preview your Ribbon Ad and then copy and paste the snippet of JavaScript code into our web page and publish it to the web for display. That’s it, you’re done!
Now let’s think about how to effectively use your Ribbon Ad to your benefit.
Do you need more sign ups or do you want to direct visitor to a sister site or special offer?
Here are some of my own suggestions:
- Link to your mailing list or newsletter sign up page
- Link to your blog
- Direct visitors to your affiliate programs, CPA offers or similar
- Notify visitors of special offers, coupons or promotions
The choice is your to make so get creative and take full advantage of this free service.
Some Suggestions For Future Development
More choice of design for ribbons for instance fluted and scissor cut out styled edges and varying widths which could be set up as an additional option. By providing a more enhanced version of the basic Ribbon Ad with dynamic looking designs the WebsiteRibbon site would most certainly attract more users. They could also use the Add This button for people to add the web page to their bookmarks and share this resource with others.
There is a Stumble It logo to the top right, however you cannot click to the site so use your toolbar link if you want to Stumble it or use the links at the end of this article to bookmark this post.
Cheers!
