7 Steps To Promos That Work

Subtitle: How To Find Your Target Folks, Get ‘em On Your Email
List, Then Send Out Emails That Get ‘em To ACT! …
And What You Can Do Starting Today!

By Marlon Sanders

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The formula for making sales online isn’t particularly
complex.

1.  You find out where you people hang out
2.  You find ways to reach ‘em with your message
3.  You offer ‘em somethin’ free to get ‘em on your list
4.  Capture their name and email on your Squeeze page
5.  You send emails
6.  From emails you send ‘em to multiple conversion processes
7.  Follow the 3 laws

Let’s break this down.

1.  Find out where people hang out.

This means you find the forums they hang out in, the blogs they read,
the sites they go to.

That way, you can do your surveys, run banner ads, and find the
folks who have the lists.

2.  Find ways to reach ‘em with your message.

a.  Find out where you can buy banner ads

How about the forums?  The blogs?  The web sites?

b.  Look for text links too

If you can’t buy banner ads, look for Google AdSense on pages.

c.  Who owns lists and sell products?

You’ll know these people because in their sign line on their
forum posts they’re offering something FREE.  In the article
directories you’ll see their articles. And at the end in the
resource box, they offer somethin’ free — JUST like you
wanna do.

3.  Offer ‘em something free to get ‘em on your list

Give people something so enticing they HAVE to join your
list.

That can be a free audio, ebook, PDF, video or newsletter.
Or anything else that’ll get ‘em on your list.

Run banner ads or AdWords ads offering something free. Come
up with a freebie the folks with lists can send out via an
affiliate link, so a cookie gets set.

Write articles with your freebie in the resource box and
submit those articles to the article directories.

4.  Capture their name and email on your Squeeze page

My friend Jonathan Mizel coined the term Name Squeeze page.
To PROVE he invented the term, he trademarked it.  In case
you’ve mistakenly read someone else invented it.

Anyway, you offer a freebie on a page where folks get the
freebie if they join your email list. Not so complicated
here.

5.  Send emails

This means firing up your autoresponder and loading up
emails.

It means learning to write subject lines, format your emails
and write bullet points that arouse curiosity and get people
to click.

You gotta become a master bullet-point writer.

It also helps if you can spin a good story, just like you do
with your friends over the phone or at the coffee shop.

You mix in value with or between your pitches so your open
rate remains high.  A lot of people make the mistake of watching
their unsubscribes alone.

You gotta monitor your OPEN rate.  That is crucial. It tells you
if you’re getting or losing attention.  This is an attention
economy.

6.  From emails, send ‘em to multiple conversion processes.

In other words, you send an email offering a free video.
The free video gives a pitch for something.

Or you send ‘em to a podcast.

Or you send ‘em to a free report or a sales letter.

Or you send ‘em to live streaming video.

Now, WHAT do you sell?

Initially, sell affiliate products.  Make Camtasia or CamStudio
videos that do your pitches.

Or write pre-sell pages that give a little pitch before you
send people to an affiliate link.  You know, warm ‘em up
first!

WHICH part of this process is the HARDEST for you?  Which
part do you need the most help with?

Hit me back on my blog: http://www.marlonsnews.com

Do you buy into this process?  Or are you following some
other system?  If so, what?

Is this so “old hat” you don’t wanna hear about it anymore?

Or are you STUCK somewhere?

7.  Make an irresistible offer.

So now the person has gone to your audio, video, blog, or
sales letter.

Now you gotta sell ‘em something.

With first time prospects, give ‘em your best offer.
Probably something cheap or free.  Although it depends
on your market.

One of my friends offers a free book then sells a $4,000
software package. When 3% of the people buy it from the
book, the numbers add up.

Others offer a $1 membership offer that goes into recurring
billing after 14 days. That is, after 14 days they’re charged
for the membership site unless they cancel.

And they get charged every month.  When you have 2900 people
getting charged $37 a month, it adds up.

7.  Follow the 3 cardinal laws

a.  Protect your business number one

Follow the law.  Pay your taxes.

b.  Maintain the goodwill of your list

Don’t milk your cow so much he/she dries up.  Offer value to
your list.  Keep that relationship up.

c.  Make sales

What you can do TODAY:  You start with step one.  Go find out where
you target market hangs out at. What blogs do they read? What ezines
do they subscribe to?  What web sites do they go to? What forums do
they frequent?

Then, when you find that out, look for banner ads you can buy, blogs
you can run ads on, text links you can buy, pages with Google ads on
‘em.

And start looking for the folks who have the lists.

Marlon Sanders

P.S.  Here’s what I want you to do:  Go to my blog and tell me if
there’s a step here that hangs you up or you have problems with. Be
as specific as possible:

http://www.marlonsnews.com

Is this all old hat to you?  Too common sense? Do you want something
newer or sexier? Or what’s STOPPING you from following this formula
today?

Here’s the thing:  My new Promo Dashboard will walk you through most
of these steps and much more.

But I NEED to hear from YOU because I need to know WHAT to put in it
to help YOU the most.  I need to hear your feedback on my blog.

Developing Income with Affiliate Programs

Online BootCamp Gives Busy Professionals a Reduced Learning Curve and Clear Path to Developing Income with Affiliate Programs
By Kellie Fowler

James Martell InterviewIf you’re struggling to keep up with busy schedules, growing time constraints, escalating financial issues, and a family that you yearn to spend more time with, you’re not alone. Like you, more and more people are fed up with the 9-5 grind and with putting in overtime hours and efforts that go above and beyond only to receive disappointing paychecks.

But you don’t have to miss out on life! Instead, you can create financial freedom from home and you are about to learn, step-by-step, exactly how!

Whether looking for supplemental income or a legitimate business that you can “grow” to make your monthly income your weekly income, you’re in the right place.

It’s called affiliate marketing and you now have the opportunity to learn from the top expert in this field how he took his starting goal of making an additional $200 a month and turned it into an income that provides he and his family with the lifestyle they previously only dreamed about.

With little start-up costs and the only resources needed including just a computer and Internet access, this online publishing business is freeing people up to live their lives to the fullest, all the while finally achieving financial freedom, while simultaneously spending more quality time with family and friends.

It may sound too good to be true, but it’s not.

Better yet, you can learn the techniques and strategies used every day by James Martell, a successful affiliate marketer, in his online course, to be conducted one evening per week for eight weeks.

It’s called James Martell’s Affiliate Marketers BootCamp - Online “Night School” Edition and “seats” do fill up fast!

Why? Because Martell has been successfully teaching students how to create profitable affiliate marketing businesses for years.

See for yourself what one Martell student says about the BootCamp training: “In the past, I’ve attended several seminars with multiple speakers. None came close to James’ powerful, articulate, hands-on, gritty presentation. He’s by far the best Instructor I’ve been privy to hearing… and grasping.”

Martell BootCamp student Darryl Ruff agrees: “I’m a slow learner, but James makes things simple to understand. Would I attend another BootCamp as a refresher? In a heartbeat!”

Martell’s BootCamp students consistently give the training an enthusiastic thumbs-up, with BootCamp student Sheldon Smollan calling the BootCamp “a genius opportunity.”

Now offered online, Martell’s BootCamp students can save time, money and collapse the lengthy timeframes associated with mastering a new career, all the while receiving face-to-face instruction, the opportunity to ask questions as they go, and being provided a detailed step-by-step plan that takes you from start to finish in the race to achieve online success.

Truly, it’s like having Martell look over their shoulder every step of the way and available to your answer questions, clarify points, address concerns, and more.

So, even if you already have Martell’s top-selling Affiliate Marketer’s Handbook, or listen to his engaging weekly audio newsletter, the Affiliate Buzz, this online course curriculum may be just what you need to propel your online efforts to sure-fire success.

And if you are not familiar with “Martell’s book, buzz and bootcamp” (as they are referred to throughout the industry), you can get everything you need now in the upcoming exciting and informative online BootCamp course.

“I believe my experience at BootCamp was the best investment I’ve ever made in myself, in my family, and in our dreams,” explains BootCamp attendee Denis Vaillancourt. “This opportunity has energized and motivated me to get to the next level of my affiliate marketing career. I’m confident in my future success now because of me BootCamp experience.”

Understanding from students like Vaillancourt the overwhelmingly positive impact the BootCamp has made on their personal, professional, and financial lives, Martell has searched for some time for a way to personally deliver his training “live” to his worldwide audience, but it wasn’t until recently that he found the robust technology he felt truly mirrored the personal training he painstakingly delivers through his off-line BootCamps.

So, just a few weeks back when Martell was exposed to an online conference room that would allow him to present the entire BootCamp using his PowerPoint presentation, live videos and live audio feeds, he knew he found the answer - and the first ever online affiliate marketer’s course curriculum was born.

Structured much like a night-school course, the curriculum will be delivered by Martell “live” in eight classes.

Martell will dedicate each class to covering one of the eight steps outlined in his recently refreshed Affiliate Marketer’s Handbook - “2006″ (THIRD EDITION).

Students can watch via the Internet as Martell personally delivers the powerful tutorials that allow students to watch him as goes step-by-step through all the stages of building a website, finding products to promote, determining which companies to partner with as affiliates, adding keyword-rich content to his site and submitting his site to the search engines.

What’s more, Martell’s online students will participate in live, interactive question and answer sessions, and be on track to complete weekly assignments all of which, when added together, make the online BootCamp experience as effective as the off-line BootCamp experience.

Martell’s online BootCamp attendees will also have unlimited access to 10 hours of professionally recorded LIVE video, which showcases Martell and his students in his hometown, going through an intensive step-by-step instruction, allowing you to review information at your convenience long after the online BootCamp has concluded. It’s like having a virtual library at your fingertips!

And because you’re learning from someone who uses these same eight steps day-in and day-out to maintain his own enviable success, you bypass the steep learning curve associated with affiliate marketing and can be up and running and making money in a matter of weeks, after implementing Martell’s proven eight steps - which have more than withstood the test of time, much like Martell himself.

What this means for you is that you can get your online business up and running faster and you can be assured that, once you implement the eight steps just as Martell details them, you’ll be on your way to making money – be it part-time or full-time – from the comfort of your own home.

Now, you really can take control of your future and your family’s future and steer it in the direction of financial freedom, allowing you to determine how much you work and even how much you make.

So, the big question is: What’s stopping you?

You and your family are worth it and this online training is, as Martell’s students have pointed out, the chance of a lifetime.

All you have to do is grab it.

Could This Be The Death of Ebay?

Oh boy has the rules changed on eBay over the past few months or so we have seen change in management and many unfavorable changes in fee structure and payments policies.

Digital Products on eBay

For instance no more digital products can be sold on auction listing. You can get around this by offering your products on CD as long as you can burn them onto CD and ship them to your customer. This has some advantages because you are less likely to receive refund requests that was a known problems with the sale of downloadable goods. People would order then request a refund once they downloaded your ebooks and software.

The downside is you need to add several products to give value to the CD product and have to charge for shipping costs and spend some time packing the goods for posting.

Before selling digital goods was a simple process. Just set up the auction and send the download link via email after receving confirmation of payment.

Now the only place you can sell digital products is via eBay Classifieds. It costs just under $10 for a month so it is inexpensive to use.

Another change I recently saw is that ‘Buyer’ can no longer receive negative feedback from Sellers!

As quoted when I logged into my eBay account I read the pop up notice:

“Important changes to Feedback

Buyers, you can no longer receive negative or neutral Feedback from sellers.

You should leave honest and accurate Feedback without the fear of negative or neutral ratings.”

Sellers must be fuming. The logic behind this new policy change is to allow the Buyer to express their experience with eBay Sellers without the fear of bad feedback from the Seller. The question is will this new move work in favor of the Buyer or create tension?

Credit Card Payments

There is also discussion that eBay want to make everyone use just PayPal as the only payment processor. Other payment processors like Google Checkout are not permitted to be used for payment choices.

Considering some people do not have a PayPal account either because they have no intention of signing up or have to bear several issues preventing them from withdrawing money from their account depending on their country of residence.

This would definitely alienate a large sector of people. The only options available to them would be mailed checks or bank wires which incur extra bank charges to process.

What is the point of all of these radical proposals?

I’m glad I’m just a buyer and not a seller because this would give me major headaches even though I can readily accept and use PayPal.

A better way to attract more people to using PayPal is to allow for special promotions like discount vouches for shoppers paying via PayPal. Everyone loves to snap up a bargain when available and what better way to encourage regular spending sprees knowing that you’ll get a reduction at the checkout and save even more money!

The fee structure has gone up too much in my opinion. There was no prior concern for losing revenue publicly so why they decided to raise the fee schedule is beyond me.

eBay have been on occassion waived the “insertion fees” or “free gallery picture” on selected days . However you are only given a few days notice to take advantage of these offers so you have to be a regular seller or set up an auction swiftly to take advantage of the offer.

Shipping Charges

I have noticed the steady rise in Sellers jacking up the shipping costs mainly because postal rate are going up ridiculous levels and of course Sellers do not pay fees on shipping.

For instance an item I was interested in was priced at £1.99 Buy It Now but the shipping was £10.99.

How crazy can you get?

It’s bad enough that shipping costs in the UK are rising so much that I just wouldn’t bother to purchase items if the postage cost are unreasonably high. I’d rather take a trip to the high street to get the item myself.

Lots of loopholes to the advantage of the seller. Consider this if there was a problem with your order would you be satisfied with a £1.99 refund when you’ve paid five times as much in shipping costs?

Seller Tips

eBay is looking less attractive than in earlier years. I would definitely look to other online auction sites and most importantly of all get your eBay customers to shop direct from your own website where you can save on fees and have more control over how you conduct your business and follow up with customers.

Don’t get me wrong I love shopping on eBay as it has saved me a personal fortune on the latest game consoles and accessories for my two growing boys.

I must admit I have a recent sway towards Power Sellers because they give me a sense that they have done business for a substantial time and I should have a hassle free shopping experience and the best customer care. Especially if I’m going to purchase more expensive items. Many high street retailers have eBay shops so they can reach the online shopper too and often provide better deals than they could in their brick and mortar business.

With all that said eBay is the most well known of all online auction sites so naturally people go there to find a bargain or popular items that are out of stock in the local high street. So I’m not suggesting that sales will plummet in fact business appears to be booming according to Alexa traffic stats show a slight fluctuation in traffic but it is still very highly visited sites on the Internet. I still shop at eBay but I do get put off when I come across inflated shipping charges and tend to stay away from sellers who don’t have a near perfect feedback rating. The closer to 100% rating the more likely I am to buy from them.

If you’re a seller how do you feel about the changes?

How to Use Teleseminars to Promote Your Business and Generate Quick Cash

“How to Use Teleseminars to Promote Your Business and Generate Quick Cash”
by Alexandria K. Brown

Can I share a secret with you?

Teleseminars are some of the easiest money I’ve ever made.

Chances are you’ve attended a Teleseminar lately. Why not produce them yourself? These seminars by phone are fun and easy to do.

Giving FREE teleseminars is a fabulous way to promote your business, help your prospects get to know you better, increase your e-zine subscribers, and jack-up sales. For the first few years of my Ezine Queen business, I offered a free monthly teleseminar that gave people an introduction to what I teach (how to get business via an e-zine). These calls generated me tons of new e-zine subscribers and sales for my home study courses.

Giving PAID teleseminars promotes your business and generates revenues as well. I do one paid teleseminar at least every two months on a different marketing topic, and sometimes I invite a special guest. Even when I just started out, each of these events would gross me between $5,000 and $10,000.

You should also consider offering an “intensive” or “bootcamp” series of multi-week teleseminars. You can break up aspects of one topic or do a series on multiple, related topics. My former “4-Week E-zine Launch Telebootcamps” went for $497 and sold out every time.

To get started, you’ll need:

1. a bridge line. For less than 50 people, FreeConference.com has worked fine for me. (Yes, it’s FREE.) For more people or for paid events, I use a paid line such as from Black & White Communications, because they come with personal service and an operator if anything goes wrong.

2. an automated way for people to sign up. I use, LOVE, and wholeheartedly recommend 1ShoppingCart. It’s an online shopping cart program that comes complete with e-mail autoresponders and link tracking. It also lets you do coupon offers for special groups, and you can automatically track commissions for affiliates.

3. a way to record your teleseminars. You’ll want to provide the audio for people to listen to later online or you can make CDs. Record yourself with inexpensive software like Sony’s “Sound Forge Studio”, or hire someone to do it for you. I use both www.AudioStrategies.com and Audio Acrobat.

But there’s a LOT more to it…

How do you get signups, especially if you have a small list?
Where can you advertise your teleseminars?
What days and times will get you more people?
How much should you charge?
How can you get expert guests on your calls for free?
How should you prepare handouts and visuals?
Do people really want CDs, or are they happy with online audio?
WHERE do you start?

To learn MY step-by-step formula for producing teleseminars that REALLY make you money, come to my next Online Success Blueprint Workshop. Along with teaching my entire internet marketing strategy, I go through my personal teleseminar processes in detail!

================================================

Looking into Teleseminar services can be a daunting process. My dilemma is whether to use a call in system via telephone, either telephone and Webinar presentation or web based Webinar.

As I am on several mailing lists I find that Teleseminars require phone charges and it is not uncommon for Teleseminars to run up to 1 hour or more. Being based in London, UK I tend to opt for Web based conferences that incur ZERO costs. I already have high speed broadband Internet access so I can easily participate and listen in using my headphones. The added benefits are with both hands free I can easily type notes whilst on the conference.

Amusing Story

Let me tell you a funny story about my first experience with my very first GoToMeeting conference. I registered for the call promptly via email and had the access telephone number and Webinar software link. Logged in and had my headphone on as usual but wondered why the heck I couldn’t hear the presentation. Now granted this was a long time ago now. I was totally unaware that I HAD TO CALL IN to hear the presentation. :???: By the time I realized this I thought well is it really practical to ring now that the call was nearly over. With GoToWebinar, even the local UK number toll number which is a 0870 number costs a minimum of double my normal phone charges per minute.

Now I am a great lover of LIVE conferences but find the added inconvenience a nuance. So if offered I opt for the recorded call. Sometimes this has been the best choice as I have found the call isn’t something I would be interested in. Besides the late call times can be a a test of endurance as in the UK we are at least +5hrs US EST and a +7 hrs US CST. Even more trying for Australia/Malaysia where there is 12 hr time difference. Yet I have heard from people from these countries area attending calls. Now that’s dedication!

Top Tip

Take a nap during the day and avoid trying to stay up until the early hours of the morning because you know you’ll be light headed and much less attentive.

Anyway here are a few options for Teleseminars:-

$44 per month
$1.00 30 day trial offer for the 5 room conference normally $54.95 per month.

Host up to 500 seats per room
Live audio and visual conferencing solutions

To use HotConference you need to share your download conference file with attendees and they can save to their desktop and log in with their name and password [if set] at the start of the Webinar.
Very easy to use and has the benefits of an attractive whiteboard, highlighter and many more features.

I personally use this software as I get a free room from my web host kiosk who also created HotConference can always upgrade to a 500 seated room as and when needed.
Unlike VereConference attendees just double click on the icon and log in.

Visit HotConference.

Free Teleseminars

Phone in conference calls appear to be highly popular. They are easy to set up and use and you can give an overview or conduct and interview with a guest whilst callers listen in.
Drawbacks are people will have phone to pay for the phone charges and may be calling from international location so for them long distance charges will apply. However most Teleseminar hosts will usually offer a recording of the call for convenience.

Attending a LIVE call is always beneficiary especially if there are special time sensitive announcements or offers valid during or just after the conference. You also have the added benefit of being able to ask questions or submit feedback whilst listening in on the call.

Some Alternatives

For alternatives to Teleseminars as listed above you could consider free online services like Blog Talk Radio and UStreme TV (as used by Russell Brunson). Blog Talk Radio is just one example of how you can run your very own LIVE online radio show. With UStreme TV you can connect to a webcam and broadcast yourself LIVE to your audience. Both services allow your guests to enter questions and feedback via text chat.

So there you are some free and paid services you can use to host a conference or meeting.

If you have tried any of these services or would like to share your own resources feel free to add your comments. You can also bookmark this article and show your appreciation on Digg and other services using the “ShareThis” and “Share and Bookmark” links below.

7 Formulas for Articles That GET READ!

7 Formulas for Articles That GET READ!

Many of us have been asked to write an article at one time or another. Maybe it’s a contribution to the company newsletter. Or a promotional article to gain publicity for ourselves or our companies. Some of us write articles regularly for clients.

No matter why you’re writing an article, it’s your responsibility to make it be interesting - otherwise no one will read it. (Except you.)

So how can you make your article interesting and engage your reader? It’s all about the ANGLE. First pick your topic. For example, let’s say your topic is something boring … “car wax.” Now, here’s where many people start writing.

Stop! You need an angle! What aspect of car wax do you want to write about? Is there anything new or sexy in the world of car wax that people are interested in? Some ideas: how the new generation of car waxes helps protect your paint job for twice as long, OR, an overview of the best five brands of car wax on the market, OR what the best type of wax is for your particular car. Get it? These are all angles. (By the way, I’ve never even waxed my car, so please take these ideas with a grain of salt!).

Ready to brainstorm your angles? Here are seven article “formulas” to get you started and get your juices flowing! Some elements of each may overlap with each other, but each formula is truly a distinct animal.

1. The How-To

People love how-to articles! They lead the reader step-by-step through how to reach an objective. They also sometimes offer resources the reader can contact for more information.

What expertise do *you* have to share? Turn that subject into an interesting how-to for readers. Examples: “How to Make Your Employees Stick Around Forever,” “How to Find the Best Dress for Your Figure,” and “How to Promote Your Business for Free.”

2. The List

This is one of the most basic formulas and the easiest to write. Give a short one or two paragraph intro, then launch right into your list. Keep each item to a few sentences max. People love numbers, so number your list and give your total number in the title! Examples: “31 Ways to Organize Your Office,” “15 Tips for Pain-Free Feet,” Five Reasons Management Won’t Be the Same in 2001″

3. The “Straw Man”

Here you set up a premise and knock it down, showing the benefits of your alternative view or approach. This is ideal to use when you’re discussing the drawbacks of a new practice or method that’s controversial right now. Here’s a great example we often see on the covers of health magazines: “Are High Protein Diets the Key to Fast Weight Loss?” You get all excited, thinking you’ve discovered an amazing dieting revelation. But the article reveals, point by point, that high protein diets are unsafe for the long term, and that of course the only reliable way to lose weight is through diet and exercise. Oh well! Back to the treadmill….

4. The Mini Case Study

Raise a provocative question and then answer it with three or four real-life examples. example: For an article titled, “Should You Quit Your Job and Go Freelance?” you could begin with a few stats on how today’s workforce is leaving the corporate world in search of solo bliss. Then you could feature a few real cases, each with different outcomes to show all sides of the issue.

5. The Interview

Choose a credible expert to interview for your article. For example, if your topic is the latest trends in banking, you could interview a top banking industry analyst. Present it in either a traditional article format or do a Q&A format.

6. The Trend

Trends aren’t just for fashion! Whenever a trend sweeps a certain profession, you’ll suddenly see dozens of articles covering the topic. From the latest hairstyle to the latest tax shelter, people want to know all about these trends - their origins, benefits, and drawbacks.

7. The Study Finding

These articles report the results of a study or survey. If you do a bit of research, you can probably dig up a recent study on which you can base your article. Examples:

“Blue Chip Companies Cutting Marketing Budgets Across the Board,” “Armadillos Now Deemed America’s Favorite Pet,” and “More 20-Somethings Finding Love Online.”

eBay Cracks Down On Ebook and Digital Product Sellers

STOP and desist orders have literally been issued on eBay sellers!

According to news from 5Star Affiliate Programs owner, Linda Buquet as from March 31st eBay listings cannot contain digital downloads of any kind. The only place sellers can list their information products is within the eBay classifieds section. This could be viewed as an early April Fool’s prank but it appears to be very serious.

Top Tips

1. Burn your information products onto CD for shipping

2. Use your “About Me Page” to link to your website where you can sell ebooks and information products direct.

3. Add your digital products as back end to sales in your thank you emails.

The Benefits of Selling Information Products

Disadvantages of Selling Digital Information Products

How do you feel about being cast away to eBay classifieds?

Could this be a ploy to get more people to use eBay classifieds and further boost eBay’s incoming traffic?

Or is this a blatant crack down on information products? Maybe due to feedback from customers or the new management making radical changes!

I’m sure there are some more innovative ideas to keep you in business. Share them with other readers by leaving your feedback via the comments.

10 Ways To Achieve Success With Affiliate Programs

10 Ways To Achieve Success With Affiliate Programs

by Nancy P Redford (c) All Rights Reserved Worldwide.

Any business, online or offline, that wouldn’t require any initial cash layout, would be a win-win situation. This is what makes affiliate programs so attractive. An affiliate program allows the affiliate marketer to act as a middleman between the consumer and the merchant. The affiliate marketer is given a commission for every successful sale. Many succesful affiliate marketer’s claim that they have given up their day jobs because of affiliate marketing. The amount they are earning from affiliate programs is significantly larger than their normal income. If you wish to enter the very promising world of affiliate marketing, here are ten tips that would definitely help you maximize potential profit from the system.

1. Focus on a particular area of interest.

You can’t sell products that target different markets. It is better to concentrate on one specific field, study its ins and outs, and work your way around its demands. To illustrate, if you choose dogs as an area of interest, research on the places where dog lovers gather online. Then look for an affiliate program that offers products which cater to their needs.

2. Choose an advantageous affiliate program.

There are some things to consider when choosing the most profitable affiliate program. First among these is the saleability-commission ratio. Usually, products which are difficult to sell offer a higher commission, whereas products that are easy to sell offer lower percentage cuts.

Try to find an advantageous balance. Look for a product that is easy to sell and offers an attractive commission. Additionally, you should also consider the credibility and reliability of the affiliate program. Do they actually pay? Do they pay on time? Are
their products worth something? These are but a few of the things you have to clarify
before committing yourself to their terms.

3. Build a focused and content-filled site.

You will primarily sell the affiliate products in your site. But if your site does not attract that many visitors, sales conversion is virtually impossible. Create a site that focuses on the area of interest you have chosen, and populate it with rich, informative content that people would love to read. Just like that famous line from the movie Field of Dreams, “build it and they will come.”

4. Market your site.

People would not automatically know about your site, so you have to advertise it across the web. Submit it to search engines, exchange links with well-visited sites, and promote it in online communities. You have to spread the word that your site exists, and that it’s good.

5. Market the product.

Once a consistent influx of visitors is established, it’s time to promote the affiliate product you’re selling. This is usually done through a sales page that can be accessed from your site. A sales page is an article full of praises or the product. Things like “it changed my life,” “the secret that they don’t want you to know,” “be a millionaire in one week,” and the likes are not uncommon lines for sales pages. But they work. You could also consider hiring a professional ghost writer to write a sales page for you.

6. Discard anonymity.

Anonymity is a common thing on the internet, but it is bad for a business venture. People would rather deal with someone they know, rather than an obscure username, it is good practice to provide your real name. You could choose to keep your contact information undisclosed or use a P.O Box number or business mailing address.

7. Build a network.

Befriend other affiliate marketers. Share information about the best deals, the most effective strategies, and perhaps, even some lists of potential buyers. Remember, the world is all about a network of contacts. Each person you know would eventually help you out at one point. There is no reason why the internet should be any different.

8. Build a list.

It is not enough that a visitor visits your site. You have to keep him. He may not purchase any of your available products now, but there’s no telling that he won’t decide to buy your future offerings. So build a list by encouraging them to sign up. Create a free service that would make them keep in touch like your own newsletter. Remember, a lost visitor is a lost sale and future income.

9. Protect your links.

Your affiliate link is the one thing that would inform your chosen affiliate program that you were the one who was responsible for a particular sale. Link theft is rampant these days, which is unfortunate, because in affiliate marketing, your link is your bread and butter. So protect your affiliate link at all costs using cloaking software or other methods.

10. Do not limit yourself to one affiliate program.

Join as many as you can without losing the focus of what you want to sell. The greater the variety of the products you offer, the more chances that one will be bought. Joining affiliate programs is free, so might as well make the most out of it.
