On Friday 25th July 2008 Randy Pausch passed away.
Randy Pausch became infamous for his Last Lecture” speech which was actually called “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”, and went on to becoming a massive viral phenomenon. Randy was also invited as a guest on many TV shows, namely Oprah.
Make the time to do the things that matter the most. Love those around you and do not take them for granted. Get busy LIVING your life instead of just trying to survive life. Always strive to live your life with a sense of purpose and passion.
One of my favorite lines comes from the film The Shawshank Redemption
“Gotta get busy living or get busy dying.”
Do you live for the moment and cherish each breathing moment you have?
Take time out to enjoy your life, your existence and your loved ones. Don’t take your life for granted because we may not consciously think it but we are do have a fragile existence.
Live Life Abundantly!

Spam, New Contact Form, Aweber and Email Updates!
New Contact Us Form
Seems that some idiots felt they had the right to add my email into their autoresponder just for using the form. So my response to this is to REMOVE the Aweber form in place of a regular Spam free contact form. I also want to alert everyone to the fact that my main email address has been officially TERMINATED!
I have used that email address since the launch of this website way back in 2002. However even with the aid of MailWasherPro to automatically filter out the “crap”, the level of Spam has grown to such ridiculous level that I had to get rid of my main contact email address once and for all!
Now once again I have taken back control of my inbox. I really loathe support systems so for now I steered way from that option. I know I works well for some but I want to keep things simple on this website.
Ticket Support Systems
One thing I do like about support tickets is the built in feature where you can enter the most frequently asked question so before people send in their questions they can check the pre-written answers before continuing with their enquiry.
For instance Rosalind Gardner’s support system is set up nicely. She has very competent virtual assistant who will answer questions promptly and courtesy in good time.
Well I’m not a famous as young Ros :wink: but I can understand how the support ticket system sets her free from inundated with emails. Plus give her more time to spend in her pool eh!
So be good and DO NOT enter my email address into your hosted autoresponder systems because I will continue to report people for this. I only wish these people used Aweber they would lose their accounts in a blink of an eye. 
Contact Via Skype
Regular subscribers and visitors have always been courteous. In fact the best way to contact me is via Skype.
I’ve used Yahoo Messenger and Google Chat but now I’m a die hard fan of Skype. Especially as I can keep in contact with friends and family members outside of the UK and not have to worry about long distance phone calls. All toll free chats with other registered Skype users.
I even spoke with my Floridian buddy during the early hours of the morning to catch up on our latest endeavors all for free.
So you can be sure I will get all text messages as soon as I log in.

Thanks to several regular and new customers from New York who contacted me by phone to let me know that one of my emails bounced. This can be a warning sign that there is a potential scam. You buy a product and then cannot contact the seller if there is a problem. I called him back to assure him that I had changed emails and regularly changed download links and made an error copying the new destination URL which resulted in him getting nothing but a 404 error page. I also emailed him the download link and waited until he had his product. Not many people would do that for a customer but I was able to reassure him and develop trust and a lasting friendship. Thanks also for joining the newsletter too!

Amazon Associate Engine Critical Update
Further to my note regarding the closing down of Amazon’s ECS3. David Cusimano has released the latest update to the script here. It only requires you to upload one file which is called ae.pl to your current installation. This will replace the old file and will enable your
current Amazon datafeed run store to function normally with Amazon ECS4.
Phew!
That’s a sigh of relief as I have many websites with variations of the Amazon Associate
Engine script.
I’ll be performing all upgrades as soon as this post is published. I also use the Calendars
script which has been removed from Kowabunga.com and is now a 1-tier program at Commission Junction and Performics.
There is also an annual license fee of jut $24.95 if you want to continue using the
“DySE::Calendars” script from Cusimano.
There are a few other updates to datafeed generated scripts for affiliate programs so check the site and sign up for more information and to receive the latest updates by email.

Are You Ready For WordPress 2.5?
So I wake up today and change all of my clocks to one hour forward for the official start of spring time here in London, UK. After switching on my PC and logging in to my WordPress blog I discover the inevitable upgrade for WordPress 2.5 is ready. Looks like the Beta testers have sorted through most bugs (hopefully).
So What’s New?
Well when you head off to WordPress you can see the revamped design. A much welcomed sleeker design by Matt Thomas that uses the entire width of the browser with less of those wasteful white spaces. Take a look at the “sneak peak” to see diagrams of the new Dashboard which has more significance in highlighting important news and is now “widget” based. See more details and examples in diagrams within the development area. I must admit I tend to ignore the dashboard and go straight to the “Write” section and the occasional check of the “Plugins” area for notifications of the any new versions I need to download and install. You must watch the video from Matthew Mullenweg as he goes inside his own WordPress admin interface to show you some of the functionalities of WordPress 2.5.
Top Tip
If you have a test server or domain where you can install WP 2.5 you can perform tests for plugin compatibility and decide whether you like the new features over your current installation. This is a good practical tip to installation success before jumping head first into upgrading all current blogs.
I always use a test domain first as I am very familiar with the hours lost tweaking and battling with little errors, usually related to my customized header file. However it is more than likely that I will wait for feedback from other WordPress users before I commit to the upgrade. Particularly any concerns with plugin compatibility issues.
From what I have read about WordPress 2.5 so far I particularly like the “Few click plugin updates” as described below:
“Few-click plugin upgrades — if the plugins you use are part of the plugin directory since 2.3 we’ve told you when they have an update available. Now we take that to the next logical step — downloading and installing the upgrade for you. This is dependent a little bit on your host set-up, and it may ask you for your FTP password much like OS X or Windows will ask you for a password, but it works well on majority of hosts we were able to test, your mileage may very, plugins in mirror may be larger than they appear.”
To all WordPress users, keep on submitting feedback for future features because at long last we are starting to see some excellent enhancements to the community software that I personally enjoy. Especially due to the fact that I need fewer addon plugins such as Redirection (changing Permalinks and not losing the old link structure in the search engine listing) and a few others because WordPress have integrated more functionality into the basic installation. There was a time when I refused to switch from version 1.5 to 2.0+ because I would lose too many important plugins. However in making that decision I found my blog became vulnerable to potential Phising robots so I had no choice but to go ahead and upgrade to the leastest version of WordPress. As a resulted I had to wave goodbye to some of my most treasured plugins. 
However as most of those lost plugins are built-in it has become a win-win situation.
Good luck to everyone who makes a success of the new upgrade to their blogs. I’ll be right with you very soon, maybe.
For now I will upgrade some of my plugins due, Sociable 2.6 and Google Sitemaps 3.0.3.1.
