Getting Everything Into Place For 2006 - Happy New Year!

If you're new here, join the community by subscribing to my RSS feed. Enter your name and email address to the form located at the top of each blog page for email updates. Glad to have your onboard!

Greetings everyone.

Those of you who are regular readers of my blog will notice that I have updated the theme design in preparation for the New Year, and new beginnings!

There are still a few more pages to add to the sidebar [right links of the blog].

I’ve added Talkr.com’s instant podcasting plugin with the help of Frank Gruber. The only downside is that some archived posts will not be able to configure the podcast.

As I am not an avid code junky I will continue to use Talkr. I know there are other plugins but this one by far seemed to be easier to set up.

I also logged into my FeedBurner account to find out why my feeds were displaying the default WordPress http://www.miriadz.com/blog/wp-rss2.php

instead of the [http://feeds.feedburner.com/PracticalMarketingTips] url. This is essential for me to track the number of subscribers, otherwise it’s all down to a hope and a prayer that somebody out there is reading my blog!

In place of my single RSS subscription button I have included a variety of News Readers which I hope will feel free to subscribe to my blog.

There is an email subscription form where you can subscribe via Bloglet and also manage all of your email subscriptions from various blogs all in one place.

I had a look at FeedBlitz offered through FeedBurner but decided against using their service. The basic free service and premium services such as branding each email template with your own logo. Currently the FeedBlitz logo is prominent at the top of all email templates. Whereas Bloglet have an inconspicuous link to their site at the bottom of each email and their service is 100% free for publishers.

You can’t beat that!

For large corporate bodies the FeedBlitz service may be more attractive for their needs. FeedBlitz also enables you to manage current Bloglet subscription through their service.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!
