If you are an affiliate promoting products from Amazon.com you should have received the latest update regarding commission rates. They claim to be trying to make end meets as far as feedback and suggestions from affiliates but they haven’t raised their commission fee from that all too low 4%!
I was hoping for a change in the rates but I guess that’s not going to happen any time soon. I’m getting a little tired of the way in which Amazon requests that affiliates apply for certain rates according to affiliate sales by a specified date.
Besides the highest commission rate according to their charts is 8.5%. You’ll need to have a good flow of targeted traffic to your site and lots of sales to make a good profit. I know many webmasters who do fairly well with their sales but they are usually sites that are selling games, DVD’s, clothing and similar merchandise.
What has been your experience with the Amazon Associate Program?
Are you earning a good sum or have you forgotten about that lonely link or banner on your site?
I would love to hear from you so you are welcome to leave a comment.
