I had announced the launch of Rick Butt’s Press Release Monkey a short while back. The site was an instant hot attracting people from all business backgrounds from charities to real estate. Unfortunately the site was hit by hackers who sabotaged the databases so that all valuable information was permanently lost.
This prompted me to look into how my own databases were backed up. There’s no point relying on a back up on the same server as your site because when your server goes down that’s it! Get everything backed up by email, set up cron jobs [set this up from your web hosting control panel] or use an online company independent of your web hosting service.
