The F.R.E.E ad toolbar gets even better for members as Mike Filesaime send out the latest update to members to announce more flexible arrangements for ad rotation. Read a copy of Mike’s message below:

"Hi Nancy,

We have made an improvement to InstantBuzz.com to
control inventory of Purchased ads vs. ‘Earned Ads’

Due to the enormous demand of members to buy
advertising, we have made some changes to our delivery
system to give better advantages to both earned credits
and those that purchase credits.

Also, some members wanted to spread their ads thru
the system at intervals they liked rather than massive
impressions over a short day or Two.

So the new system will allow you to set an:
"Impression budget" for your ads.

i.e. You can set just 1000 of your 10,000 ads to show.
Then the next week do the same. That way you can get
longer life from your ads and improve your site as you
go along to get better results.

Here is how the new system will work.

In your members area for edit bar ads you will see a new
setup for ad credits. There are 2 different type of credits
showing…the credits you have earned, and the credits you
have purchased, if any.

1. All earned credits go into the earned pool (top) for use.
You can move these credits to hold, or leave them in use
pool. There is no limit on the number of earned credits you
can move to use.

2. All purchased credits go into the purchased pool
automatically, and can only be assigned to Active use in
blocks of no more than 50,000.

3. If you have a combination of earned and purchased credits
in Active use, the system will rotate credits used on a 1 to 1
basis…1 from earned, then 1 from purchased, etc.

Due to that fact that we have had an over abundance of
ads "SOLD" recently, the queue is over loaded. This was
causing long times delays for anyone’s ad to show.

This will help the system stay more balanced and extremely
help all members get more use of their credits whether earned
or purchased.

Article: Googling In Your Car It Could Be There Soon

An interesting article from Blogging Stocks entitled, Googling In Your Car It Could Be There Soon mentioned by Tinu today in which ipod users could access Google search and realted services from within their vehicles. What’s to stop us from having internet access on the road as long as the device we use is portable so that we do not invite thieves to break in and steal the technology?

Currently hand held devices provide us with a way to access virtually any site over the internet. Maybe in the future we will be able to hook up to the internet through our radio or satellite navigation devices. All this said and hoped from a self confessed internet junkie. LOL

Just image if you ever loose your home internet access for one reason or another you could just chill out in the comfort of your own car. What do you think?

New WordPress PayPal Membership Plugin

If you’ve been contemplating using your blog to host a membership site then now you can with the new WordPress PayPal Membership Plugin.

There is a small one-time charge currently $42.00. You can use the software on an unlimited number of blogs.

I hope that they will provide a list of users and share feedback before I would consider investing in the software. If you’re not in a hurry to get started now you may wait to wait until further versions are released as we know those bugs and fixes will most certainly come up, as further upgrades are not free.

Overall the plugin idea is attractive for many, especially bloggers who find the WordPress platform easy and convenience to use as opposed to setting up HTML or PHP web pages to host their membership site. More details can be found at the  WPBoard site.

Some very interesting things are going on at The Podcast Network as Cameron Riley and his team hope to monetize ads G’Day World’s Podcast currently on Ebay. They aim to sell advertising space for their podcast via Ebay auctions. With Ebay having such a huge customer base this new venture is surely guaranteed to be an overnight success.

Bloggers and Ebay enthusiasts will benefit from using the ads to target visitors from Ebay. Depending on the pricing structure this could be a good cost effective way of marketing for regular people as well as small businesses.

Join The WordCamp Conference In San Francisco, CA

For all of us bloggers out there you are invited to the free WordCamp Conference scheduled for Aug 5th 2006 in San Francisco, CA. The event will run for a day and will finish off with an evening party.

If you have any ideas about what you would like to see featured in future versions of the highly popular WordPress blogging software then the conference is where you can share your thoughts direct with the founders and attendees.

I’ve signed up for email updates to keep updated with current events as I am an avid user of WordPress for all of my blogs. I personally prefer version 1.5.2 as it work well with my plugins. I hope that the plugin compatibility issues will be resolved without having to train up as a code expert. Until then I have no plans for upgrading!

Hi everyone I’m back after loosing internet access from my broadband provider. After spending no less than 2 hours over the phone and getting cut off three times when transferred to another department I still had not resolved the problem.

Anyway I’m back with a new service so will continue to blog from hereon. Thanks for the messages but I am OK, asides from being a little irritable.
