I connected with EJ Cooksey who has runs a Home Schooling blog. I have used my parental rights to Home School my eldest son after bullying almost ruined his life and education.
I also have several bloggers who want to exchange their expertise and offer me content.
So for today I have accepted an invitation from Keith Stieneke who has an SEO article of interest to you.
We all are looking for ways to increase our web site traffic using free and effective methods.
Begin Article=>
One of the best ways to your website found in the major search engines is through having a blog attached to your website. Even better than that is having your website be a blog.
In either of the examples we are referring to SEO or rather search engine optimization. SEO, a major component of search engine marketing, improves the amount and quality of traffic a website gets from search engines using either "organic" or "algorithmic" search results. For using SEO as a marketing strategy, consideration on how search algorithms work and what people search for increase a site’s relevancy.

I hope everyone in North America had a chance to celebrate Memorial Day. Although many lives are lost in war we do have to pay our respects for the people who served in the army and to remember the precious lives lost in many wars worldwide.
Here’s to the day when we live in a world where war is no longer an option.

11 Quick (and Good) Content Ideas for Your Ezine or Website
Guest Article:
"11 Quick (and Good) Content Ideas for Your Ezine or Website"
by Alexandria K. Brown
Publishing articles, especially via an e-zine, is the ideal
opportunity to showcase your business. By sharing your knowledge
and expertise, you build credibility as an expert, while spreading
the word about your services and products.
While I’m sure that sometimes you have dozens of content ideas,
I bet other times you find yourself staring at a blank computer
screen, grumbling that it’s publishing time again. Well, have
no fear! Here are 11 quick (and good) content ideas for when
you’re in a pinch.
1. Give real-life success stories.
Describe a problem you’ve solved for a client/customer, and
use that as a springboard to offer more general advice. Show
your readers how you’ve helped customers address challenges
– "case studies" if you will. This positions you as the expert
in your readers’ minds more than your coming out and saying so.
2. Think of three areas in which you’d like your clients to
think of you as a resource. Now develop content in those areas.
For example, in my past life as a professional copywriter, I
really enjoyed writing for Web sites. To help encourage my
clients and prospects to hire me for these projects, I published
several articles on how to write Web copy that sells.
3. Read industry publications for ideas.
Are there any hot issues in your field right now? The more
controversial, the better. Don’t be afraid to offer your own
opinion — your readers want to know it. After all, YOU are
the expert in their eyes.
4. Jot down 8 questions your clients have asked you in the past.
You know, the ones they ask you over and over. Answer each in
a short article. If you publish weekly, that’s two months’
worth of content, right off the bat! And if you can’t think
of any questions, send all your current clients/customers a
quick e-mail, asking them what topics they’re most interested
in learning more about.
5. Learn anything neat lately from an industry conference,
workshop, seminar, or insightful article?
No one says you have to reinvent the wheel of information!
Pass on any gems of advice you’ve learned elsewhere — just
give them full attribution. Or give your opinion of the event
or article itself. Your readers will appreciate your frankness.
6. Offer a list of your top 5 or 10 tips on a certain subject.
It’s much easier to bang out a list of tips than to put together
a real article. Of course, the tips can evolve into an article
if you wish! Be sure to list your best tip first, or at least
close to the top. (If you "fire your biggest gun" last, you risk
losing your audience before they get to the good stuff.)
7. Interview associates whose expertise would interest your
readers (while not competing with yours). E-mail interviews
are incredibly easy to do. Just send your interviewee 3 to 5
questions via e-mail, edit their answers, and have them approve
the final version. Be sure to give them a short plug in your
e-zine as a thank you. (A one- or two-sentence description of
their business and their Web address should be fine.)
8. Recommend books and resources that you use, and offer full
reviews on them.
In one issue of my old e-zine, "AKB MarCom Tips," I featured
reviews of my favorite four copywriting resource books. I’m
glad I also gave my Amazon.com associate links, because I ended
up making some nice commission, to boot!
9. Invite clients or readers to write you with their own questions,
and answer one in each issue. Right after their question, publish
the person’s name, business, and Web address, with their permission.
They’ll enjoy the attention and free publicity!
10. Invite readers to send in profiles.
Ask them to tell you about themselves — their names, businesses,
locations, and how they use the information gained in your e-zine.
Feature one profile in each issue or one every few issues.
11. When all else fails, borrow an article!
There are dozens of Web sites offering hundreds of articles that
you can use in your e-zine. The articles are free and available
for you to use immediately. The only catch is you’re required to
leave the entire article intact, including the author’s promotional
information. One of my favorite places to search for articles
is www.ezinearticles.com.
One last note: Keep in mind that if your e-zine’s main objective
is to get you more clients and customers, you should NOT feature
other writers’ articles more than once in a blue moon. Remember
our main goal is to continually showcase YOU. : )

Script Updates And Keeping Your Site Hacker Safe
I should have written this post earlier this week.
Why?
Because I have been doing a spring clean of all the scripts on my server.
Particularly PHP based scripts. I’m well aware of how vulnerabilities in old scripts can leave you site open to hackers.
A long time ago I was sure that as long as I kept updating my sensitive login passwords that I could thwart any hacking attempt.
However once you have any type of script YOU can be a target of hackers who may delete your databases, upload files to your server and more dubious activities. Worst of all no-one has to physically visit your site as there are automated scripts to do the "dark deeds" on autopilot! ![]()
After looking through my directories and files on my server I found some very old and UNUSED scripts that I just didn’t need so I removed them.
My programmer will be working on updating all of my family of WordPress blogs, membership site scripts and others to the most current version.
At least then I should be relatively safe and tie up all known loopholes!
My main reason for staying with my current version of WordPress is because of the plugin compatibility issues. Most plugin script authors have made custom plugins for newer versions of WordPress.
But I must concede to keeping my sites SAFE and SECURE with the risk of loosing some functionality with plugins, maybe.
So please bear with me while this work goes on for about a week.
I apologies for any loss in uptime and look forward to everything being completed within a few days, depending on my programmers schedule.
I love WordPress and wouldn’t want to trade it in for any other blogging software but it is driving me crazy keeping up with the new versions and security patches that I ALMOST wish I had opted to host my blogs off-site. ![]()
Hmm!

Jim Edwards Article - 2 Cool Tools For Online Video
Hi everyone, today I have an article from Jim Edwards
which was sent to me today before it is due to be
syndicated on his regular newspaper column.
I have been using free video sharing sites and have
found that the majority of them prefer AVI, FLV type
media files to FLV Flash files with the exception of
a few sites like VideoWebTown.
"VideoWebTown will automatically convert your
uploaded files to Flash Video Streaming format."
Let me know if there are other video sharing sites
that convert your uploaded videos to Flash format.
Cheers,
- Nancy
2 Cool Tools For Online Video

Unless you live under a rock, you know by now that
online video represents the hottest thing to hit
the Internet since the invention of the modem.
YouTube.com reportedly receives over 65,000 video
submissions every day.
Video sites crowd the TOP 10 most popular destinations
online and web video frequently appears on national
TV while sometimes breaking the news before the
networks even know a story exists.
Despite the popularity of online video, most video
sites feel like the early days of radio when it
comes to user-friendly features (or obvious lack thereof).
But, have not fear, the following tools will help
you drastically improve both the flexibility and
enjoyment you get from online videos.
** YouTube.com In Your iPod **
Most people would agree that YouTube.com carries
the largest selection of free online videos available
anywhere on the Net.
Once you get past the skateboard crashes and bike
wrecks, some very interesting videos can be found
with a little digging.
However, unlike Google Video, YouTube.com does
not offer video downloads.
Google Video enables you to download almost any
video in popular formats for your Apple iPod, Sony
PSP, and other compatible portable video devices.
YouTube.com requires you to stay on their site to
watch the videos or view them on a site with embedded
code which streams the content.
Either way, YouTube.com wants your eyeballs on a web
page when you watch their videos so they can make
money from advertising.
So, if you want to start watching YouTube.com videos
on your desktop, iPod, PSP (or other compatible
portable video device), you need a little help.
These two tools will do just that!
** DVDVideoSoft.com **
Virtually all online video sites stream their videos
in FLV (Flash Video) format, a format that works very
well on both PC and Mac computers over the Web.
Unfortunately, the FLV file format does not work on
most portable video players, so you need a way to
convert them to a file format that will work.
DVDVideoSoft.com offers a free PC software program
that will convert YouTube.com videos to MP4 format
for use on your iPod or other portable devices,
including mobile phones.
Log onto the site, look for the link that says
"FLV to iPod" (currently in the lower right corner
of the front page) and follow the instructions.
I found the software simple, easy-to-use and straight
to the point with an intuitive interface (that means
you can figure out how to use it without reading the
instructions).
** Vixy.net - Online Conversions **
Vixy.net is an online service (currently in beta)
offering online video conversion for both PC and Mac
since it works through a standard web browser.
Just give the site the URL of the FLV video you want
to convert, choose the format you want
(AVI, MP4, 3GP, MOV, or MP3 audio-only) and click
the button.
Once Vixy.net finishes converting, they give you a
link to download the file.
My only complaint with Vixy.net is that they "throttle"
their bandwidth, so it took forever to download the
converted file.
Other than that, it worked like a charm!

Updates On Auction Ads, Ebay Tracking And Web 2.0
After the much talked about problems with Ebay’s tracking system I have been able to get my reporting up for Auction Ads.
Now I cannot say whether the figures are truly accurate because I have not been using them for a very short space of time. So I have no way to compare previous results.
Anyway they are back in business and I’ll be keeping a watchful eye on my commissions.
I was reading Aaron Wall’s post today as I was writing up this post as he documents how fast moving the Web 2.0 sites model. Aaron highlights how many competitors race to launch a similar web sites that are in direct competition with each other.
It’s good for the consumer because we get added choice and convenience but it could mean that the Web 2.0 web site owners have to settle for a smaller market share.
What are your thoughts?

When Affiliate Programs Go Wrong
How do you truly evaluate a product?
Do you rely entirely on the product owners marketing materials for their affiliates and sales copy or do you make a purchase to make own personal review?
In some cases where you have a merchant who is consistent with producing high quality products such as John Reese you can be sure that the product has been rigorously tested by real people long before being launched to the online community.
In most cases you would be best to purchase the product or if you are in good standing with the merchant you could request a copy for review.
We are human and we can sometimes get it wrong no matter how many cautionary steps we have taken to make a thorough evaluation.
Rosalind Gardner talks candidly about a more than problematic merchant who apparently was not impressed with her critical review. After five months she finally received her commission payment but couldn’t log into her affiliate control panel to check up on statistics.
"UPDATE:
START
Further to a personal interview with the merchant mentioned on Rosalind’s post I have found that as with ALL cases that there are at least TWO sides of the story. Without getting into further debate and cause unnecesary conflict I have to say that this debate has been somewhat blown out of proportion.
For instance, if you use 1Shoppingcart system you will recall last year’s internal problems with tracking and emails. This coupled with a mutual breakdown of communication has fuelled the above case.
I’ve decided to withdraw my initial bad merchant stand and will do my due diligence before contributing to ANY post where controversy or gripes pointing towards a known individual or company. No sides are being taken here but I wanted to add this point rather than just deleting this whole post." END
Rosalind also bashes a number one ranking ClickBank product which has been a topic of controversy and debate over at the Warrior Forum.
Do your due diligence and make regular checks on exactly what you are promoting.
Ask the product owner as many questions as you can think of to get a clearer understanding of a product and read through the terms of your affiliate contract and address any topics of concern.
Looks like we have to be trained undercover FBI agents just to ensure our own integrity when a merchant goes bad or uses deceptive tactics to get people to buy into an idea.
Stay safe online and beware of false promises of riches and the like,
Nancy
