It’s that time again when you log into your WordPress blog and read the latest announcement on the ‘Dashboard’ and see yet another upgrade. Maybe it’s due to security vulnerabilities found that need your immediate attention or to add more functionality.
Whatever the reason I use to dread this note. I’d be sending my installation guy an email to get all of my family of WordPress blogs updated to the latest version.
So why not do it myself?
After all there are step by step instructions at WordPress. Well if you’re like me and hate the thought of messing around with things you’re not too savvy with like script installation and the dreaded WordPress upgrade, then you want to call on someone who knows EXACTLY what they are doing.
Until.. I plucked up the courage to look into Doing-It-Myself which could mean the difference to my decision to create another WordPress blog EVER AGAIN.
Anyway I wanted a FOOLPROOF guide but not written tutorial.
Hey it’s 2007 so VIDEO is what I’m after. No compromises!
Beside the last thing I want to do is screw up my blog! 
Off to YouTube for a quick search and behold I find a “How to Upgrade WordPress” video waiting for me.
Holy Cow.. This is so EASY TO DO.
Why the heck I didn’t try this before beats the hell out of me.
Now I can do it myself and save myself time and money in the process.
For those of you who have been put off by the idea of having to constantly upgrade your WordPress blog and thought it was too much trouble. Then I urge you to watch this short video. Once you see how STRAIGHT FORWARD the steps are to upgrade your Wordress blog you’ll never ask anyone to do it for AGAIN!

For the first time I’m actually looking forward to the official WordPress 2.3 update.
It goes to show that that time old saying “YOU Never Know Until You Try”
really does make a difference.

Add BlogRush To Create A Viral Blog Traffic Frenzy

Can Proxy Hacking Remove Your Site From Search Engine Results?
I wasn’t going to do a write up about this article when I first read it.
Little did I know that my own site homepage had recently been hijacked!
I did a search for sites linking to my homepage and found the culprit.
Well it looks like it doesn’t matter what site you have whether you think it is popular or otherwise you really need to look into this.
I have gone through the advice and tips and will be looking into implementing the code but I would prefer a professional script with support as I am not that savvy with recoding technical scripts.
After having a superb time in Paris where I promised my boys that I would not be spending time online so that I could RELAX I am all fired up now.
I have been on a rampage of contacting affiliate networks associated with the webmaster in question.
I have also sent copies of several other web sites that have been compromised so that they are made aware of the problem and can follow up, if they choose, in their own way.
After all if these people seek to make a profit from stealing YOUR HOMEPAGE to serve ads via pop ups then once you TAKE AWAY their source of income then that may be the ONLY WAY to fight back.
However, I can hardly imagine that anyone could find each and every CULPRIT.
My sincere thanks go to Brad Fallon for revealing this major problem to me as a subscriber to his lists. You can read a detailed article by Dan Thies on the subject (which incidentally is not new) to find out how the web site MyWeddingFavors.com was affected by ‘Proxy Hacking’. Even though at first I was somewhat confused and how this could be possible. I have read some more information and now have a much greater understanding and awareness of the problem.
I haven’t printed the URL mainly because I seriously doubt whether their site will be live after they lose their AdSense and affiliate revenue. However if you want to view the URL in question just contact me by leaving a comment.

Only hope this problem isn’t too widespread and more IMPORTANTLY there will be an easy to implement fix for non technical people like me and the major search engines crack down this activity altogether.

Just a quick note to wish everyone in North America a Happy Labor Day weekend.
After reading about Labor Day I came across a link to Jerry Lewis who holds a special annual Telephone to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. You can read more about the MDA Telephon being hosted in Las Vegas.
Oh yes, I am a HUGE Jerry Lewis fan! 
To everyone worldwide, enjoy your weekend and have some rest and relaxation.
By the way my trip to Disneyland Resort Paris via Eurotunnel for the 15 YEAR CELEBRATIONS was FANTASTIC. Yes I can REALLY drive from my front door to my hotel room in Paris. The Eurotunnel experience was the most comfortable 35 minutes train ride ever. My kids loved it. No getting out luggage to wait in check-in queues. Just stay in your car get scanned with a hand-held device, show your passport, board the train and Voila, you’re in France!
